Cold Weather Compressor Packages

Advantages to the HY-BON/EDI Cold Weather Compressor Packages

  • Classification: Compressor building Electrical Classification is Class I Div. I. The air exchanges for Class I Div. II are no longer necessary. The air exchanges are problematic because of the extreme temperatures. Bringing in the low temperature air makes it difficult to maintain heat in the building. Going to Class I Div. I will allow our units to stay warm in the winter.  Building temperature is monitored and controlled by use of automated louvers on the cooler.

  • Panel Building: Disconnect, PLC Panel, VFD Panel, and all motor starters are mounted in a skid mounted enclosure shipped separate from the compressor skid to be mounted in unclassified area. Building is insulated and comes equipped with a heater and a light. This arrangement keeps all electrical equipment out of the extreme weather. This helps to protect all equipment from the low temperatures. Panels can be accessible to technicians out of the elements.

  • Volume versatility: Variable Frequency Drive is used to maximize flow ranges. Custom design allows the unit to be converted to other Compressor/Motor modules for different volume ranges should the volume need change after installation.

  • Future Unit & Installation Cost Savings: The ability to change to different Modules without changing out the complete unit as the capacity needs change over time. A smaller or larger complete unit will not need to be purchased, only a Module at a much lower cost. The installation cost of replacing the module verses replacing the entire unit (including piping, electrical etc.) will be much less.

  • Rotary Vane Modules: Interchangeable within the same building, without any electrical or cooler changes.

  • Replaced Modules: All modules that are replaced can be useful.
    • *Modules are interchangeable and can be used on other units*
    • *Modules can be used as spares or back up*

  • Change of Line Pressure: Should the discharge pressure change in time from the original application. All units are designed to have the same connections in the same location. You can go from one type of compressor unit to another without changing piping. This will save on installation cost.
